1. The General Directorate of National Defence Policy and International Relations, that has been formed under the law 3433/2006 (A' 20) for the "Provision of Armaments for the Armed Forces" is responsible for the research, the submission of specific proposals, and monitoring of the implementation of all decisions concerning National Defence Policy and National Defence Planning, in cooperation with the Chief of General Staff of National Defence. Relevant issues pertaining to it are: Strategic issues and analysis, as well as, issues of foreign relations and agreements of National Defence Cooperation, international law and international organizations, all of which are jurisdictions of the Ministry of Defence etc.
